We kicked off the month with a remarkable event on March 11th, focusing on Mental Healthcare and Substance Abuse Addictions. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our insightful panelists – Stacy Schepel, Stephanie Pierce, Angela Nolz, and Erica Hough. Their expertise shed light on the crucial resources available in our county, as well as the existing gaps such as health insurance challenges, transportation for appointments, adolescent services, and the stigma surrounding mental health disorders. The panel also emphasized the need for more mentorship programs.
The event was a stark reminder that at some point in life, everyone might face mental health challenges. It’s vital to understand that it’s okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a courageous step. Let’s keep this conversation going and work towards ensuring better Brain Health Resources for everyone in our community.
